But to say they are causing global warming just is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04584105952800020400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4254983862613092490.post-54827844342870825322008-06-02T07:48:00.000-04:002008-06-02T07:48:00.000-04:00OK, just remember, on H&C, as on many political ta...OK, just remember, on H&C, as on many political talk shows, it's their job to find the biggest whackos and have them as guests/call-ins so they can say "Hey, look, all liberals/conservatives are this loony!"

Secondly, while I don't think obese people are causing global warming, I would say most of your seriously overweight people are more likely to have a Quarter Pounder diet than a stir-fried vegetable diet. Rent "Super Size Me" - it's a very entertaining look at what being a 'heavy user' of fast food places can do.

As for global warming, even as a left-winger, I'm still on the fence. I'm sure we're slowly destroying our environment, and should do all we can to reverse that, but I think too many theories about global warming exist for me to believe just one.

My problem is with guys like Neal Bortz, who said recently, when told that Americans were using about 25% of the world's natural resources, compared to much less being used by other, larger industrialized countries: "So what? We should use all we want! So what? We're America."

To me, sometimes being the best country in the world means being a tad more humble and a tad more resourceful.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12708601090893899916noreply@blogger.com
